Our Aglime has long term benefits – target PH = Higher profits
Acidity makes a significant difference to the productive potential of grassland and arable soils, ultimately resulting in lower arable yields, reduced livestock growth and reduced income. Using lime can effectively help reverse these problems.
BENEFITS OF LIME
• Improves the structure of the soil
• Increases the efficiency of herbicides
• Maximises the benefit from expensive fertilisers
• Reduces acidity, hence increases the availability of nitrogen, phosphates and potash.
• Inexpensive, easy application
• A long-term investment in the productive potential of the land.
WHY USE LIME?
Soil acidity is detrimental to the productive potential of grassland and arable soils.
Acidity results in:
Poor soil structure
Poor root development
Inefficient utilisation of fertilisers
This in turn leads to lower arable yields, reduced livestock growth and subsequently reduced profit. Lime is lost from the land by the use of fertilisers, crop off take and leaching. To counteract this effect we recommend regular monitoring the soil by soil testing. Routine application of our Agricultural Lime will provide a cost effective way of achieving optimum PH values (6.0 or 6.5 for arable).
Ground agricultural limestone is a granular calcium carbonate produced from very high purity Carboniferous Limestone suitable for use with all modern spreaders. It is a quick acting liming material with a high neutralising value (NV) and provides essential calcium. Granule size is nominally less than 3.35mm.
